WheelScan
Contactless measurement of train wheel dimensions
WheelScan is used for a contactless measurement of the train wheel dimensions. The system is embedded into the measuring station that automatically manipulates the wheels and analyzes the measured parameters from the WheelScan system. The system can operate on both the hot and cold wheels.

Wheel profile analysis |
The WheelScan system is based on the principles of the laser triangulation. A given number of profiles is taken during continuous rotational movement of the train wheel. Afterwards a 3D reconstruction of the whole wheel from the obtained data is computed and analyzed. The system takes sixty profile images per each wheel during a regular process. To improve a quality of of the wheel reconstruction it is possible to increase the number of the images taken.
