Three-dimensional profile extraction and inspection

ProfEx technology allows to extract profiles of 3D objects using laser illumination combined with image processing. A complete profile is extracted from a number of partial measurements, which are automatically combined together on the basis of precise calibration of the system, thus achieving the precision about +/- 0.05 mm for the objects with size 10 cm.

ProfEx consists of a measurement station and an Windows NT computer	ProfEx extracts required parameters of the products and compares them with the CAD model

Measured profiles are segmented into a sequence of basic geometrical entities, e.g. lines, arcs, or circles. Parameters of the entities are measured, visualized by overlaying on a CAD model, and compared to prescribed tolerances of products.
