Quality control of jewellery stones

MesCut system is used to perform quality control of machine-cut fashion jewellery stones through precise measurements of shape in backlight illumination. Images of stones in backlight illumination are acquired, their silhouette is extracted, and automatically segmented into geometrical primitives like lines and arcs. The lengths as well angles between the primitives are screened to asses the quality of the cuts.

MesCut builds on Neovision OPAS measurement technology in backlight illumination. The precision of measurements achieved in MesCut is +/- 0.005 mm.
