Helios

3D polygonal reconstruction

The Helios device is used for an accurate measurement of dimensions of convex polyhedra objects through 3D reconstruction of shapes. For example machine parts, plastic moulded pieces, precious stones can be measured by this device.

The system consists of a measuring head and an evaluating PC with software. A measured object is placed on a computer-driven rotary table. The outline of the object is scanned in back illumination by a CCD camera. A 3D model of the object is created from the images obtained during rotation of the table. High accuracy is ensured by a special multidimensional calibration of the camera.
